Your telephone call to our outage reporting system automatically conveys your name and location to the dispatcher using your telephone number. It is of utmost importance that we have your correct telephone number on file for accurate outage reporting. The telephone number we have on file for you is listed on your electric bill. If this is not the correct number, please let us know as soon as possible.
Outage reporting at EREC uses an automated system that is capable of handling a large number of incoming calls per minute without busy signals. This is especially important and helpful in the event of a widespread outage such as those that occur with tropical storms and hurricanes. However, this outage number should be called to report an outage of any type, any time of day or night. Using this telephone number specially designated for outages will get your information reported to the dispatcher and get help on the way in the quickest and most efficient way possible, which means a shorter outage time for you!
When you call the outage number, you will be connected to an automated system that will lead you through a series of prompts to obtain details about your outage. However, you can rest assured that your outage has been reported the moment your call is connected. Even if you’re not sure if you followed the voice prompts correctly, you can be confident that your outage has already been reported to the CRC.
